Tiny House Interior Trim

Interior trim is where the dividing line between carpenters and woodworkers becomes grey. If you’re a rough carpenter looking for more refinement, or a fussy woodworker eager to work on bigger projects, this class is for you.

Who is this class for:
Hammerstone courses are open to women-identifying and non-binary folx as well as trans men.

Prerequisite:
While this course has no explicit prerequisite, we highly recommend that students attend either our 2-Day Basic Carpentry Skills, Build a Bookcase, Build a Box, Build an Adirondack Chair course or an equivalent before participating.  In Tiny House Interior Trim we review the critical content covered in these courses, but at a faster pace.

Description:
In our many of our courses we discuss the difference between rough carpentry and fine woodworking; the tools used, the types of materials, the size of projects, and the level of precision is different in each.  Finish carpentry, and in particular, interior trim work, is where the line between those two sub-professions grows blurry.  When installing interior trim, your eye for detail must be honed, and you typically use larger stationary tools, with more refined lumber.  However, you are still working on large (home sized) projects.  If you like to explore grey areas, or are looking to move from one extreme to the other, this could be just the class for you.
